Sir Winston Churchill said, “There’s something about the outside of a horse that’s good for the inside of a man.” Few people understand this more than expert horse trainer Chris Cox. A lifetime in the saddle has shown Cox that the bond between a horse and its rider can produce miraculous results.
Democrat Ken Leach, who battled colon cancer and won in 2006, is now going to battle Republican U.S. Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. for the Texas Congressional seat for the 26th District, which includes Denton County. The economy takes the front seat on his campaign platform, according to the Gainsville native. When asked what major issue he is campaigning on, Leach replied, “The economy, the economy and the economy.” The 68 year old life-long Democrat says he believes we need to turn our attention to another source of energy besides gasoline. “We cannot drill ourselves out of this. Our time for drilling is over,” Leach said. “We’ve got to make a transition from gasoline to another source of energy. It could be batteries. It could be hydrogen. I am leaning toward hydrogen.”

The fire that broke out in the early morning hours destroyed four units of the complex, and two Lake Cities firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.

Last month I wrote about someone close to me who suffers from an abused

had been tormented since before she knew how to do simple tasks like
tie her shoes or say her ABC’s. The abuse shut her down e... [Read More]
